This non-profit promotes health and self determination in poor communities worldwide by making health information accessible. They work with health workers and groups around the globe. The Foundation’s first book, Where There Is No Doctor, is considered to be one of the most accessible and widely used community health books in the world. Subjects include everything from women’s health to midwivery to dentistry to teaching deaf children. The Hesperian Foundation is also sent grants on a regular basis.
